『バックベンドを検証』

バックベンドは身体全体をひらき、調和をとってくれる美しいポーズです。身体のある部分が他に較べて堅かったり、正しく使われていなかったりすることで動きが制限されたり、後屈部分に負担がかかったりして「難しい」、「怪我をしやすい」、と感じられることも多いようです。
このワークショップでは、バックベンドにつながっていくいろいろな動きを検証し、様々なポーズやエクササイズによって内側のアーチの作り方、脚と三頭筋の強化、太もも前の部分を伸ばし、腰を守ること、胸の上部と肩を開いていくことを学びます。
※全レベル対象。必要に応じて準備ポーズの指導も行います。

【アイリーン経歴】
伝統的な方法と実験的なアプローチ、両面から練習。
伝統的な手法としては、数年間に渡り日々マイソール・スタイルでアシュタンガ・ヨガを練習。2005年、正式指導者（certified teacher）であるジョン・スコットやハミッシュ・ヘンドリーのもと、アドバンスＡ（３rdシリーズ）を終了。
同時に実験的試みとして、1999年よりTripsichore Yoga Dance Theatreとともに勉強を続け、2002年より同シアターの海外公演ツアーに参加。2006年にリリースされたTripsichore・ヨガDVDに ヨギーの一人として出演。 Tripsichoreのアサナの練習シークエンスは、ハンド・バランス、ハンド・スタンド、そしてそのバリエーションが強調されている。
2002年にはロンドンにてShkha Yoga Studioを設立、2006年まで運営。その後、更にヨガの練習を深めるため英国を離れ、マイソールで、そしてインスピレーションの源となった師、Rolf Naujokatのもとで練習を続ける。

Exploring backbends:

   Backbends are beautiful poses that open and coordinate the whole body.
They are also often felt as challenging, even damaging sometimes, if some areas in the body are tighter or not properly engaged, restricting movement and putting pressure on the arch.
   In this workshop, we'll explore the different actions that articulate a backbend and use a variety of poses and exercises to learn to access inner arches, strengthen legs and triceps, lengthen the front of the thighs, protect the lower back and open upper chest and shoulders.

Eileen's Bio
Eileen's yoga practice comes from both a traditional and an experimental background. On the traditional side, she's been practising Mysore style Ashtanga daily for several years and completed the Advanced A (or 3rd) series with certified teachers John Scott and Hamish Hendry over 2 years ago.
In parallel and on the experimental side, she's been studying with the Tripsichore Yoga Dance Theatre company since 1999 and has toured and performed internationally as a member of the company since 2002. She's one of the yogis featured in the Tripsichore Yoga DVD released in 2006. The Tripsichore practice consists of asanas sequences with a strong emphasison hand balances, handstands and handstands variations.
Eileen founded and ran Sukha Yoga Studio in London from 2002 until 2006, when she left the UK to further her own yoga studies both in Mysore and with inspirational teacher Rolf Naujokat.
