ティアス・リトルさんのワークショップの詳細です。タイトルの付け方にセンスが感じられます。ヨガ・コンフェレンスなどではよく知られている方ですが、日本でワークショップをやるのは、どうやら初めてのようです。海外のヨガ・コンフェレンスに行かなくても、体験ができます。

内側へ倒す　　7月11日　（金）18:00-20:00

　前屈は、マインドを内側へ引き入れて、心の奥の方へ向かわせ、　脳組織を回復させるのに役に立ちます。
　このクラスでは、前屈の時に体の後部—背骨、腎臓、肺を解放することに焦点をあて、疲労を取り除き、瞑想に向けてマインドを準備していきます。

　
脚に炎を：スタンディング・ポーズ　7月12日　　（土）9:00-12:00

　私達の脚は、“背骨の中枢へと続く門“のようなものです。
　このクラスでは、背骨に大いなる生命力の流れを生み出すために、　能率的に脚をはたらかせること：足、足首、ひざを開くことに焦点をあてていきます。　軽く力強く、脚を開いていくことに重点を置き、バランシング・ポーズや
　逆転のポーズでの脚の使い方を細かくやっていきます。


　蓮の花を育てる　　7月12日（土） 14:00-17:00

　このクラスでは、ロータス・ポーズ（蓮華座）をとるための、　安全で安定した土台を築いていきます。
　細やかな指導を通して、足首を重ねる時、ひざ、ヒップを自由にする方法の準備運動を深め、パドマアーサナの準備をしていきます。
　

　プラーナの鳥を自由にする 7月13日（日）　9:00-12:00

　体の面は胸腔が圧迫されてちぢこまってしまい、肋骨がくずれてしまいがちです。
　このバックベンド（後屈）のクラスは、胸と横隔膜、お腹の奥に閉じ込められた潜在的なプラーナのベールをはぎとっていくのが目的です。　後屈をするためには、体の前面、特に大腿四頭筋、大腰筋、大胸筋のつながった部分を開いていかなければいけません。
　このクラスでは、腰の安全のために背骨と足を鍛えるための、準備運動を充分にやっていきます。

　回転の進化　　7月13日（日）14:00-17:00

　ねじりは、大いなるエネルギーと生命力を体にもたらします。
　ここでは、腰の左右のゆがみ（脊柱側湾症）をなくす、ねじりの色々なやり方を検証していきます。
　疲労を感じたり、エネルギーが消耗された時、ねじりは元気を回復させる薬になり得ます。
　このクラスは、内臓を絞る効果により、背骨の神経を通して豊富な血液循環を促進するスパイナル・ツイストを立位、座位ともに焦点をあてていきます。　最後は、胴体、肺、首を通っているリンパ液の流れを促進し、　お腹のすみずみまで血液を行き渡らせる、あお向けのツイストで修了します。

【ティアス経歴】

ティアス・リトル経歴

1985年よりアイアンガー・ヨガを学ぶ。
1990年にマイソールに６ヶ月間滞在、アシュタンガ・ビンヤサ・ヨガを学び、
1996年にも再びマイソールへ渡る。
ヴァジラヤナ・ゾクチェン仏教のTsokni Rinspocheの生徒であり、禅宗の曹洞宗に深く傾倒し、道元を師と仰ぐ。
頭蓋仙骨療法とマッサージのトレーニングを受け、解剖学教育においては、
トム・マイヤーズとともに熱心に学ぶ。
1998年にセント・ジョンズ・カレッジにて東洋哲学修士課程を終了。
2006年より、身体的体験を通してのトラウマ（心的外傷）回復について学習中。

Folding Inward

Forward bends serve to draw the mind inward toward the spirit and to restore the organ of the brain. This class emphasizes release of the back body-the spine, kidneys and lungs- in front bends in order to reduce fatigue and prepare the mind for meditation.

Fire in the Legs: Standing Poses

Our legs are like gateways to the temple of the spine. In this class we focus on streamlining the legs and opening the feet, ankles and knees in order to generate greater flow of life force in our spine. The emphasis will be on building light, strong and open legs. Detail on balancing poses and how to use the legs in inverted postures.

Growing a Lotus

This class lays a safe and stable foundation for practicing the lotus pose. Through detailed instruction and in depth preparatory work, on how to free binding in the ankles, knees and hips, this class prepares for padmasana.

Freeing the Bird of Prana

It is all too common for the front of the body to compress, shortening the chest cavity and collapsing the ribs. This backbend class is designed to unveil the potential prana locked in the abdomen, chest and diaphragm. In order to backbend we must free up the front of the body particularly the quadrecep-psoas-pectoralis link. This class includes an abundance of preperatory work to safely prepare the spine and legs for back.

Revolve Evolve

Twists bring tremendous energy and vitality to the body. We will look at the various ways that twists help reduce asymmetry (scoliosis) in the lower back. When fatigued or depleted twists can be the medicine to rejuvenate. This class will emphasize both standing and seated spinal twists that have a wringing effect on the internal organs and promote abundant circulation of blood through all the spinal nerves. We will conclude with supine twists that irrigate blood throughout the belly and promote the flow of lymph fluid through the trunk, lungs and neck.

Tias's Bio

Tias has has been a student of Iyengar Yoga since 1985. He spent 6 months in Mysore in 1990 studying Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and again in 1996. He is a student of Tsoknyi Rinpoche's in the Dzogchen practice of Vajrayana Buddhism. He is steeped in the Soto School of Zen Buddhism and is an avid student of Dogen. Tias is trained in massage, cranial-sacral therapy and has studied extensively with Tom Myers in Anatomy Trains. In 1998 he earned a Master's degree in Eastern Philosophy from St. John's College. Since 2006 Tias has been studying trauma and recovery through Somatic Experiencing.
