【内容】
インサイト・ヨガは、身体やマインドのためのヨガにおける「意識の道」であり、洞察を生み出す媒体（なかだち）となってくれるものです。このヨガのルーツは、ヨガ、仏教、中医学、トランスパーソナル心理学の教えにあり、身体、心、マインド、結びつきという4つの重要な要素が、互いに依存し合っています。

身体的には、一般的な能動的（陽）／受動的（陰）アーサナを行います。この練習は、筋肉だけでなく関節の柔軟性も高めて維持すること、体全体のシステムをより強めて活性化すること、感受性を培うこと、エネルギー体のバランスを整えて純化すること、などを目的として構成されており、「安らぎ」に続く道を体験させてくれます。

身体、心、マインドとの結びつきへの意識をどのようにつなげ、普段の練習に取り入れていくか、について少しお話をした後、ゆっくりとしたフロウ（流れ）のある練習をします。続いて、わたしたちに多くの教えをもたらしてくれる、陰の練習へと入っていきます。ここでは、洞察力を高めるための「気づき」の方法論を重点的に取りあげ、最後に瞑想の練習をして終わります。

このワークショップは、ヨガの瞑想的な側面を深めたい、と思っているすべての方を対象にしています。

【内容】
このコースは、バランスのとれたヨガの練習を、哲学的、実践的かつ実験的に応用させていくにはどうしたらよいのか、その理解を深めるように構成されています。既に指導を始められている方、今後指導をしていきたい方、あるいは、自分の練習を深めることに関心のある方が対象です。

この集中コースによって、瞑想へと誘うような内側の環境を培うことに興味を持ちながら、受動的な陰スタイルのヨガと能動的なフロー／陽スタイルのヨガの双方を指導する能力を強化していきます。事前に、サラの DVD 「Yin Yoga(陰ヨガ)―サラ・パワーズと学ぶ４時間」を視聴することをお薦めいたします。

ハタ・ヨガにおける身体的鍛練は、調和のとれたポーズを作り出すことに重点を置いています。どのアーサナを選び、どのように組み立てるのかと同じくらい、これらのポーズをどのように練習するのかがとても大事なのです。練習方法のレパートリーが様々に増えていくと、生活のあらゆる時間に合わせてシークエンスを変化させることができ、適切で、かつ新鮮で活き活きした練習を継続的に続けていくことができるようになるのです。

Insight Yoga: Yin/Yang Yoga Workshop with Sarah Powers

[Course Description]
Insight Yoga is a body/mind yogic path of awareness that creates a regular vehicle for insights to occur. It draws from the wisdom of Yoga, Buddhism, Chinese medicine and Transpersonal psychology. Insight Yoga involves 4 main quadrants of development that are each interdependent: the body, the heart, the mind, and relationships.

For the body we engage in a regular active and receptive (or Yin/Yang) asana practice that is designed to develop and maintain pliancy in the muscles as well as the joints, to increase strength and vitality in all the systems of the body, and to cultivate a sensitivity to, and a re-balancing and refinement of the energy body- the gateway to the experience of an ease of being.

Sarah will give a brief talk describing how to integrate the body, heart, mind, and relational awareness into our regular practice and then following a slow flow practice, we will drop into a nourishing Yin practice, where Sarah will focus on mindfulness methods for cultivating insight, ending with a meditation practice.
This workshop is suitable for anyone interested in going deeper into the contemplative, meditative aspects of yoga.

Insight Yoga:Yin/Yang Yoga Teacher Training Intensive with Sarah Powers

[Course Description]
This course is intended to deepen one’s understanding of the experiential, philosophical and practical application of a balanced yoga practice. It is intended for those who are either already teaching, wanting to teach, or simply interested in deepening their practice.

This intensive will strengthen one's ability to teach both a receptive Yin style and an active flow or Yang style of yoga with an interest in promoting a conductive inner environment for meditation. Please come with a basic understanding of the practices by viewing Sarah’s dvd, Insight Yoga.

The physical discipline of Hatha yoga centers on the harmonious embodiment of postures. How we practice these postures is as important as which asana we choose and how we orchestrate them. Increasing our repertoire of different ways to practice allows us to vary our sequences at different times in our life, continually keeping the practice appropriate, as well as fresh and alive. Drawing from her book, Insight Yoga, Sarah will cover:

-Yin Yoga- how, why and when to practice this style safely and effectively
-Meridian theory, organ health and yoga practice
-Details of sequencing and its emotional effects
-The primary focus of ujjayi breath in asana: length, depth and direction
-Mindfulness in asana.

-Proper physical alignment in Yang (active) postures
-Sequencing of postures for various levels
-How to assist those with injuries
-The use of touch and hands-on adjustments

[Bio.]

Sarah Powers began teaching in 1987. She interweaves the insights and practices of Yoga and Buddhism into an integral practice to enliven the body, heart and mind. Her yoga style blends both a Yin sequence of floor poses to enhance the meridian and organ systems, combined with a flow or Yang practice, influenced by Viniyoga, Ashtanga, and Iyengar teachings.

She is co-founder of Metta Journeys (www.mettajourneys.com), a service oriented organization that offers yoga retreats internationally to help women and children in developing countries.
